Expenses for Moody Library's Summer Reading Program approved at council meeting

MOODY – Expenses for the Doris Stanley Memorial Library (otherwise known as the Moody Public Library) not to exceed $2,000 was approved at a brief meeting of the Moody City Council on Monday, April 26.
The request was made by library director Patsy Spradley, who said that the program will be done online for the summer due to the COVID-19 situation as opposed to doing them live in previous programs. Four videos will be produced for children to watch as part of the program.
“We have a good time,” she said. “And I know that it’s a lot more fun to be able to go and watch our live shows, but this will suffice this year.” ....

Moody Council votes on economic development project amendment, hears from St. Clair EDC

MOODY At a regular meeting on Monday, April 12, the Moody City Council held a public hearing for the amendment of the 2013 CDBG Economic Development Project, which relates to road improvements on Kelly Creek Rd. serving Love’s Travel Stop.
Before the public hearing was held, the council heard reports from department heads, including the police and fire departments for the month of March.
In the police report, the department received 1,171 calls for service, 32 arrests, 86 warning citations, 194 total citations, 76 completed reports, 20 misdemeanor cases were closed, 30 felony cases (23 closed), 16,021 miles were driven and there were $5,936.94 in expenses for vehicle repairs. ....
