She performed in Rochester Sunday night and now Lindsay Ell has posted a heartfelt note of thanks to the Med City on social media.
If you didn t get a chance to stop by Mayo Park Sunday night for the kickoff to the 2021 Down By The Riverside Concert series, you missed a GREAT show! First, it was incredibly cool to actually get to take part in live events again, after having pretty much EVERYTHING canceled in 2020.
So, seeing as we d all been waiting for over a year for any live music made it a special night right off the bat. But in Lindsay Ell s case, it was a wait that was actually two years in the making. If you recall, she was already booked to play Down By The Riverside here in Rochester back in 2019. But severe weather that Sunday (complete with thunderstorms and even a few tornadoes) canceled her performance. The thinking was that she d hopefully be able to come back in 2020. But, we all know what happened then.

ROCHESTER, Minn. - People flocked to the first Down by the Riverside Concert at Mayo Park Sunday evening for a night of country tunes. It s the first of a weekly concert series every Sunday through mid-August.
After attending the concert herself, Mayor Kim Norton is now asking for the community s input on what could bring more people to the space behind the Rochester Art Center, whether it s events and amenities the City can help facilitate, or encouraging people to enjoy the park or host their own events there.
