The R & S Keystone Diner in Telford, Bucks County closed Thursday after a 75-year run. The original R & S Grill was on Line Lexington Road in Hatfield, Montgomery County, where it opened in 1948. It moved to its location on 4714 Bethlehem Pike in Telford in 1960. It has been run by owner JoAnn Kerr since 1981, when she took it over from her late parents. ....
The site of the Broad Street Diner in South Philadelphia is slated to become a five-story, mixed-use building with 29 apartments and a ground-floor restaurant. It's not yet clear whether the restaurant will be a revamped version of the Broad Street Diner. A demolition permit was issued over the summer for the diner near the intersection of Broad and Ellsworth streets. ....
Popular Family Restaurant in Bensalem Closing After 29 Years The COVID-19 pandemic claims another struggling restaurant in Pennsylvania this week. According to Patch, after 29 years as a Bensalem staple, Michael’s Family Restaurant is closing its doors. The news came via Facebook where the owners said, “This decision has not been an easy one. COVID-19 has made an already tough business even more difficult.” After opening to the public in 1992, Michael’s quickly became a casual dining hotspot for locals and customers took to Facebook thanking the restaurant after the news of its closure. Patch relays what one customer said, “Sad to hear this. We have missed sitting at the counter with our family, chatting with the all servers that we have come to know over the years. Thanks to all the servers over the years who have been so nice to our family!” ....

A store employee said, With COVID, we just haven t been able to get the business like we used to. The diner, which opened its doors in 1992, will be relocating many of its employees to the recently opened Tiffany s on the Boulevard, a new diner that opened three weeks ago in Northeast Philadelphia at 9010 Roosevelt Boulevard. The Montgomery Township location of Michael s at 709 Bethlehem Pike will remain open, along with other diners in the region operated by owner Michael Petrogiannis. He owns at least 10 diners in the Philadelphia area, including Tiffany s, Melrose Diner, Mayfair Diner, Broad Street Diner and Country Club Diner. He also owns Warminster West. ....
