Edgecombe County’s Cooperative Extension Office is once again fully staffed with permanent, full-time employees following the addition of a new extension agent specializing in agriculture and, eventually pesticide application.
Mason Shaw, a May Cum Laude graduate of N.C. State University with a bachelor’s degree in plant and soil sciences with a crop production concentration, joined the staff on Dec. 1.
For Shaw, once things got started, they happened in a bam-bam fashion.
“I interviewed on a Monday,” he said. “Thursday was Thanksgiving and I came up to look for a place to live that Saturday.”
And the following Tuesday, he reported to the work. ....
