The civic body changed its stance after the plan faced strong opposition from various quarters including a request from the Air Force Station. There was also a petition filed in the High Court against using the landfill as crematorium. “We have dropped the plan,” Sarfaraz Khan, Joint Commissioner of BBMP said. “No new crematoriums will be added as the existing ones are sufficient in number.” ....
