to intervene and stop the operation of uber x and lift. this is causing a big traffic problem here in center city philadelphia now. you can see all kinds of taxi cabs and they were called for 600 of them to block the streets here in center city in the middlest day, cab after cab lining up causing complete congestion, they are protesting what they call the illegal operation of uber x and lift in philadelphia. we ll continue to monitor this from the air and on the ground. and at 6abc.com. right now the jury is deliberating charges of taking part of the assault a gay couple of in center city. katherine knott testified in her own defense. she said she did not hit or insult anyone, she faces several years in prison, two male codefends plead guilty and are on probation. a center city slasher is now behind bars, officers arrested kyle stevens in north philadelphia this morning and accused of attacking two men earlier yesterday morning and katherine scott is live now with more on

tonight they are on edge. i was devastated because i ve been here for 33 years, and actually i ve never had a problem. i never had any fear that anything could happen to me. you know, and i guess now i m just going to have to be more aware because lots of times were i leave, um, it s dark, you know, it gets dark early now. reporter: now police are urging folks in the center city area to be aware of their surroundings. the suspect has a dark jacket with a gray hoodie. he was also wearing a dark baseball cap and again carrying that distinctive white shopping bag. these attacks took place at 5:30 and around 5:45 this morning. so again be very careful tonig tonight. and tomorrow morning. police continue to search for more surveillance video hoping to get a better look at the suspect. we ll bring you the very hate test on this investigation coming up tonight at 10:00. iain. dave, we ll look forward to that, thank you. happening now, homeland security and philadelphia police

officers say are random attacks. good evening, i m lucy noland. i m iain page. imagine police want to find this guy before he strikes again. fox 29 s dave schratwieser is live in central detectives to night. dave, this is pretty scary stu stuff. reporter: no doubt about it, iain. one of the slashing victims just arrived here at central detectives tonight to speak with investigators. he got here about 10 minutes ago. he is inside talking to detectives right now. he arrived here just several hours after that surveillance video was released of the man police believe was involved in these two attacks. it s a shame. it s scary. reporter: police leased this surveillance video of the suspect heading down 21st street just moments after the first attack on a temple student who was jogging near the river lost apartments at 23rd and walnut. it sounds random. from both incidents it doesn t appear that the victims know this individual. reporter: as word spread across center ci

lost apartments at 23rd and walnut. it sounds random. from both incidents it doesn t appear that the victims know this individual. reporter: as word spread across center city tuesday night, about the two stabbing incidents, just a few blocks apart, residents, business owners and visitors were clearly worried. there s no concern about guns but a lot of cases it s not always guns. people who get knives or whatever the case is. it s the time of the year everybody to be happy and joyful, and i don t know. reporter: the temple student suffered puncture wounds to his torso and hands as he tried to fight off the attacker just after 5:30am. 15 minutes later, police say, a 42-year-old man walking in the 100 block of 21st street near cherry was slashed in the face. at this point in time it doesn t appear to be robbery. we re not ruling anything out but it doesn t appear to be that at this point in time. reporter: bobby king owns salon 21 right at 21st and cherry a few feet
