WEST HAVEN In the wake of the alleged sexual assault of a 74-year-old resident, those living in the city’s Surfside apartments are angry and fearful, and a housing authority official said some immediate changes would be implemented, including increased security.
But residents of the building at 200 Oak St. apartments for seniors, the disabled and others say it’s too little too late, as they have been complaining of lax security for years. ....

DERBY The Danbury state’s attorney on Wednesday identified the veteran city police officer who shot a man accused of opening fire for an unknown reason near the Ansonia line Monday morning.
Officer Patrick Foley was identified as the officer sitting in his police cruiser near the intersection of Division Street and Atwater Avenue at the Derby city line around 7:15 a.m. when a juvenile approached his vehicle, according to Danbury State’s Attorney Stephen J. Sedensky. ....
