The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) has advised members of the public that because of blockages – caused by debris – affecting raw water pumps at the Waila Water Treatment Plant, it has been unable to produce enough safe water to ensure all reservoirs had sufficient water to service their respective areas.
The authority stated that the high turbidity levels had also been recorded at its Tamavua Water Treatment Plant.
It stated that teams had carried out emergency works to remedy this.
However, it added that until water levels normalised, customers living in affected would experience disruptions in their water supply.
