QUETTA: Jamit Ulema-e-Islam Fazl s (JUI-F) former leader Maulana Mohammad Sherani said Thursday there is no problem in reuniting with party leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman if the latter agreed to it.
Sherani and Maulana Gul Naseeb, both leaders who were expelled last year by Fazl, were addressing media after meeting Fazl, who has been resting after contracting a fever. We did not discuss anything related to politics in our meeting with Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Sherani said, adding that they had met the PDM chief only to inquire about his health.
RAWALPINDI: Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Friday said Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s politics has been exposed by his own party leader Maulana Mohammad Sherani who termed him ‘selected’.
She also said Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM)’s announcement of resignation from parliament was just an empty threat, adding the opposition parties would not hold any long march. “Looters will not launch any movements. PDM does not have any ideological common ground and it is a group of parties gathered to protect their money,” she said at a Christmas ceremony held at Parks and Horticulture Authority Rawalpindi office.Ms Awan said PML (Functional) leader Mohammad Ali Durani had met PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif to convey a message of Pir Paghara. She said Maryam Nawaz was staging protests while Shahbaz Sharif was busy in negotiations.
