In a large parking lot lined with orange traffic cones, Renown employees lined up in their cars to receive their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at the Reno Livestock Events Center Thursday.
While sitting in the comfort of their cars, all they had to were to roll down their windows and roll up their sleeves.
As they drove off into the vaccine recovery area, several other hospital staff and volunteers cheered while holding up purple Fight the Good Fight signs.
Nevada s second shipment of COVID-19 vaccine to be much smaller than expected, state says Reno-Gazette-Journal 12/18/2020 Chelcey Adami, Reno Gazette Journal
Nevada will receive 42 percent less than expected in its second allocation of the COVID-19 vaccine, state officials announced late Thursday.
Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak called the move disruptive and baffling.
Earlier this week, Nevada received 25,350 doses of the Pfizer vaccine as part of its first shipment.
Of those, 17,550 doses were available for the state to distribute to counties for acute care hospitals, and 7,800 were set aside for staff and residents of long-term care facilities, according to the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services.
