In Aurora Theatre Company's production “Manahatta,” which is running through March 10 in Berkeley, playwright Mary Kathryn Nagle, a citizen of the Cherokee Nation, draws parallels between the forced removal and taxation of Native Americans during the 2008 financial crisis and the 1626 Dutch purchase of the island of Manhattan, the Lenape’s ancestral homeland.

After receiving 93 submissions from the US and places all across the world including India, The Netherlands, Ireland, Australia, Canada, and more, the films were narrowed down and winners were selected in each of the following categories: Best Film presented by WarnerMedia, Best Director presented by WarnerMedia, Best Editor presented by Adobe, Best Actor presented by IMDbPro, and Awareness Campaign Award presented by ViacomCBS.

Dwarfo-Psychosis Wins Big at Easterseals Disability Film Challenge Awards Haley Bosselman, provided by FacebookTwitterEmail Mockumentary short “Dwarfo-psychosis” took home two prizes at tonight’s Easterseals Disability Film Challenge Awards, with director Maria DiDomenico and producer Emily Pascal winning the best director and best film awards, respectively. Written by and starring Steven LaChioma and Pancho Moler, “Dwarfo-psychosis” sees fraternal twins Peter and Pat celebrate turning 40 with a huge reveal. It was created as part of the Easterseals Disability Film Challenge, a week-long filmmaking contest that provides a platform for new voices in the entertainment industry. Among the panel of judges who decided upon the winners were “Crip Camp” director Jim LeBrecht,
