GAINESVILLE – Two parcels at opposite ends of the massive Mundy Mill mixed use development likely will be exchanging zoning designations after receiving a unanimous recommendation for approval Tuesday evening from the Gainesville Planning and Appeals Board. The 605-acre development along Mundy Mill Road was originally approved in 2004 for 1148 single-family homes, 1235 condominiums, townhomes and apartments, over 800,000-square feet of office/warehouse space, 885,000-square feet of commercial/retail space and an elementary school. Developer Scott Stringer has applied with the City of Gainesville for rezoning that would allow him to construct three hundred multi-family apartments currently approved for Pod E (a 17.25-acre tract at the most eastern edge of the complex), on a 17-plus acre site on the western edge of the complex (Pod I). Both pods are owned by Butler Property, LLC. ....
GAINESVILLE – Will 2021 be the type of year that leaders in Gainesville and Hall County were hoping 2020 was going to be, at least in the areas of growth and new construction? “I think back to the beginning of 2020, and one of the things that we talked about internally was that this was going to be the year of construction,” Gainesville Community and Economic Development Director Rusty Ligon said during a telephone interview last week. “We had a lot of projects that had been approved…so we thought we were going to see a lot of construction in 2020…then COVID-19 hit in March, and I can honestly say that I thought several of these projects may not happen at all,” Ligon continued. “I was very nervous about what was going on.” ....

Special counsel robert mueller has reportedly interviewed a figure who may be key to unraveling the collusion side of the russia investigation and that is what bears out, has to do with a strange story reported in the wall street journal. you may remember this, about a gop operative named peter smith who sought clinton e-mails, presumably the ones she deleted, from hackers before the election. he also sought help from a cyber security expert named matt tate who was so alarmed by the scheme he came out with his side of the story after it was all over, provocatively entitled the time i got recruited to collude with the russians. tate wrote that smith never expressed any discomfort with the possibility e-mails he was seeking were potentially from a russian front, a likelihood he was happy to acknowledge. if they were genuine they d hurt clinton s chances and therefore help trump. tate has talked to mueller, according to business insider, ....
Research arm for the trump campaign. we knew that as of last night s show that this guy who worked with peter smith on this effort to collude with the russians, cyber security analyst, spoke with the house intelligence committee. house intelligence. now, today, we learned from the business insider that even before the house intelligence interview, that same cyber security guy, matt tate, also got interviewed by robert mueller. so good news about that in terms of whether or not we re going to get to the bottom of the russian scandal, this appears to be a case where there doesn t seem to be a conflict between the mueller investigation and the investigations run by congress, right? in this case, the interview with special counsel apparently did not preclude him from appearing before the house intelligence committee. that s good news. we re told to worry, and in some cases, we have worried about ....
