Greetings from Capps. We trust that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends. Ours was small and simple but we re grateful for the many blessings we have. It was also great to receive the much needed 1.5 inches of rain last weekend. My reporting about the stalled demolition work at Capps Full Gospel was premature as they had the entire building scraped and carted away by the end of the day on Saturday. Capps Batavia Fire Department had our monthly training meeting on Monday. We have several outstanding young firefighters who have joined the ranks over the last year or so and it looks like one of them is going to be our firefighter of the year, stand by for news. Recognizing people who go above and beyond is important to us and having several who are deserving is a good problem. I saw that Matt Odom, one of our Assistant Chiefs, has decided to run for a JP seat on the Quorum Court. We wish him luck in that venture. The annual Capps-Batavia Community Thanksgiving ....
