Elko County school trustees approved a list of four priority projects that could potentially qualify for state grants, with the door open to another project should an emergency arise.
Over 1,000 people signed a petition calling for changes to the policy. Lynette Vega, president of Zero Suicides Elko County, presented the petition to the school board on Tuesday.
Although two policies addressing policy were approved in its second reading by the school board on March 5, concerns were raised by parents and members of the Zero Suicides Elko County advocacy group.
