Bijbehara, October 02 (Scoop News)-On the eve of Gandhi Jayanti, Swach Bharat Diwas under the aegis of Swach Amrit Mahotsav was held at Municipal Committee Bijbehara. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr Basharat Qayoom was the chief guest on the occasion. Director, Urban Local Bodies Kashmir Mathora Masoom and President Municipal Committee Dooru Verinag Mohd Iqbal were also present on the occassion. Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that Swachta Diwas was celebrated with much fervour throughout Anantnag. He said this is just the beginning and he is hopeful that the people of Anantnag will play their role in ensuring a Swach Anantnag. He said institutional support in terms of facilities, infrastructure development and dissemination of knowledge as well as capacity building programmes are all important verticals for achieving the goal of Swach Anantnag but the most critical input is of public sensitization and participation.
