Los Angeles Kings goaltender Troy Grosenick started for the first time since 2014 on Wednesday in a 5-1 win against the Anaheim Ducks. Grosenick’s win marked the seventh-longest stretch between regular season wins for a goaltender in NHL history.
Grosenick, 31, stopped 33 of 34 shots for his first victory since Nov. 16, 2014, a 2-0 win for the San Jose Sharks against the Carolina Hurricanes. Grosenick was filling in for Cal Peterson, who was placed in the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol hours before Wednesday’s game. Regular starting goaltender Jonathan Quick missed his second consecutive game with an upper body injury.
