Mail theft case leads to months-long investigation, high-speed pursuit

Two men who reportedly led police on pursuits as they tried to evade arrest in separate incidents including one that started with stolen mail have been charged with felonies.
In one case, what became a four-month investigation began in late December with mail theft in the Santa Rosa Valley, the Ventura County Sheriff s Office reported. Detectives from the agency s Moorpark station looked into several cases of mail getting stolen from residents. Two additional mail thefts gave authorities a lead: a man in his 40s driving an older-model black Jaguar sedan. ....
