Thousands of runners are getting ready to run one of the most iconic races in the world the bay to breakers. Originally called the crosscity race. Its a tradition thats more than asen is try old. Cornell bernard joins us live from the starting gates. Good morning. Here we go. Let the games begin. Two hours away from the bay to breakers. Barricades are up. The starting line and ready and the runners, well a lot of them are not here yesterday. But they are slowly trickling in. About 50,000 runners, to be exact, making the iconic 7mile trek. Its a oneofakind race, quirky fun, crazy perhaps. Lots of costumes. Some people opting for no costumes, at all. No clothes, in fact. Police say have fun but leave the alcohol at home. Police will be cracking down on booze. If you are spotted drinking on the course, that alcohol will be taken away from you. Extra security is on hand as well. They want to make sure the race is safe and fun. This year extra portapotties will be on hand. 1100, to be exact

Though drinking is not allowed during the race, they have the right to tap the keg before and after the event. City has tried to curb the amount of alcohol climbed.
