To The Reader’s Forum: A huge Thank You to Dr. MaryAnn Spanos, Director for the Office for the Aging, the Chautauqua County Health Department, and RiteAid Pharmacy for providing COVID-19 vaccinations to several downtown Jamestown residents of senior housing facilities. Centrally located Covenant Manor was the vaccination site, which allowed easy access for seniors and wheelchair participants. In the one and one half day vaccination clinics, more than 200 people were vaccinated. With minimal lead time, tremendous coordination and cooperation was needed in order to register and set-up appointments for each participant. The clinics ran smoothly thanks to all those who were determined to provide easily accessible vaccinations to a vulnerable population. Kudos to all those involved. including all those who showed up to receive their vaccinations. ....
Chautauqua County’s Office for the Aging Mayville staff are looking to relocate to Jamestown. In October, the county Legislature approved an agreement for the Office for the Aging and the Veterans Service Agency to relocate from 610 W. Third St. Jamestown to the south county Chautauqua Center building. During Thursday’s Audit and Control Committee meeting, Office for the Aging director MaryAnn Spanos said the Veterans Service Agency no longer wants to relocate to the Chautauqua Center and instead is moving to the Jamestown VA Clinic on Hazeltine Avenue. The lease that was approved in October at the Chautauqua Center was for 2,500 square feet 1,900 for the Office for the Aging staff and 600 feet for the Veterans Services Agency staff. ....
