ZBA reviews new proposal for denied permit request

ZBA reviews new proposal for denied permit request By Sheryl Roadcap - sroadcap@sidneydailynews.com SIDNEY The Sidney Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA), Monday, discussed a request to review a previously denied conditional use permit request. The case discussed was the request of Kevin M. Darnell, on behalf of Scott Dorsey, of Silverado Trucks, for the potential approval of a conditional use permit and variances for outdoor storage at 720 Linden Ave., in the I-2, general industrial district. In May, the board denied Dorsey’s request for outdoor storage located in the side and front yards. These locations are not compliant with the requirement for outdoor storage to be located in a rear yard only, Barbara Dulworth, community development director, said at the May ZBA meeting. Due to the placement of buildings on the property and the requirement of a minimum 20-foot setback from property lines, the proposed property cannot have outdoor storage that is in compliance.

Fuel station determined OK use in I-2 district - Sidney Daily News

Fuel station determined OK use in I-2 district By Sheryl Roadcap - sroadcap@sidneydailynews.com SIDNEY The Sidney Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) determined a fueling station at the intersection of Campbell Road and Vandemark Road is an appropriate use in the I-2, general industrial district, during Tuesday’s teleconference meeting. At the top of the meeting, Ken Jensen, ZBA’s newest board member was introduced. Also, because board Chair Tom Ehler was absent Tuesday, board member Mary Paulus was elected by other members to preside over the meeting. The only item on Tuesday’s agenda was the request of Brad Puryear, on behalf of Mansfield Oil Company & Flyers Energy, for an interpretation of the zoning code, to determined if a contract/fleet fueling station, not open to the general public, is an appropriate use in the I-2, general industrial district.
