DAVAO CITY – The city government plans to start the construction of a 100-bed capacity Davao City Hospital this year at the University of the Philippines-Mindanao (UPMin) campus in Tugbok here, 3rd District Councilor Dr. Mary Joselle D. Villafuerte said.
Villafuerte said that they have been working on the draft ordinance for the establishment of the city government-owned Level 3 hospital which is planned to rise in a 3.28-hectare property within the UP Mindanao campus.
She said the city government targets to break the ground for the project within the year. She said the project needs a budget of around P300 million.

DAVAO CITY The City Council of Davao is set to schedule a series of committee hearings on January 11 and 14 after the passage on first reading of a draft ordinance for the implementation of a coronavirus disease (COVID-19) immunization program on Tuesday, January 5.
The proposed measure, authored by the city’s third district Councilor Mary Joselle D. Villafuerte, was intended to adopt a “comprehensive, immunization program for COVID-19″ as the city plans to procure its own supply of vaccines.
Villafuerte said, in an interview over Davao City Disaster Radio (DCDR 87.5) on Wednesday, January 6, that the proposed measure must be legislated to prepare the city for the eventual massive rollout of COVID-19 vaccines in the Philippines.
