Apr 14, 2021 (Getty Images) A local activist is suing the East Baton Rouge Metro Council over the Alton Sterling settlement. Mary Jane Marcantel claims the Metro Council violated Louisiana s open meetings law when it offered the multi-million-dollar settlement to the Sterling family. Marcantel is now asking the 19th Judicial District Court to void the approval of the settlement.
