We saw that congress failed to reach an agreement on cybersecurity legislation in 2012 as perhaps many would have predicted. They remain very far apart because industry is very opposed to any sort of cybersecurity standards. That being said, the administration has threatened to implement a lot of their legislation Via Executive order which sort of gives them the negotiating leverage, and weve also had reports the economists reported that president obama addressed a secret executive collaboration between b the administration and the private sector.
