‘If something seems too good to be true, chances are it probably is.’
This much-touted adage could apply as much to adviser acquisitions as to other aspects of life.
For the past year and a half, True Potential has been promising to pay retiring advisers 8 per cent of their assets under management as long as they transfer clients to its internal proposition.
The deal offered 8 per cent up front when it was introduced. This year that changed to 4 per cent up front, with the remaining 4 per cent paid over the next 12 months.
