A 53-unit multiple family apartment building is proposed in Alexandria.
At its meeting Monday night, the Alexandria City Council tabled issuing a conditional use permit to Meadow Homes, LLC, on the west side of North Nokomis/County Road 44 near the intersection with Green Lane, west of 12 existing townhomes.
City Planner Mike Weber recommended the council to table the permit until the conditional use permit and a replat or final plat can be approved at the same time.

The building, now owned by Carl Kvale Real Estate, is being converted into real estate offices, with a conference room and accessory space.

New reports from Alexandria s two city-owned liquor stores, Downtown Liquor and Plaza Liquor, show that sales are up.
Sales at both stores this past January and February exceeded the sale totals from those same two months in 2020, according to a report that was in the Alexandria City Council’s March 8 meeting packet.
Alexandria to get new firefighting weapon

The Alexandria Fire Department will soon have a new firefighting weapon – a $1.24 million aerial fire truck that will replace a 1999 ladder truck that needs extensive repairs, according to Fire Chief Jeff Karrow.
