Mike DeWine is restoring some of the state education money that he previously said would be cut, Andrew Tobias reports. But under the new order, DeWine is restoring $160 million in funding to schools this year, and $100 million to higher education. The DeWine administration is working on finalizing its budget proposal and plans to unveil it on Feb. 1.

Ohio Girds For Unrest As Governor Says He Didn t Anticipate Right-Wing Uprising

Ohio Girds For Unrest As Governor Says He Didn’t Anticipate Right-Wing Uprising Patch 1/13/2021 © Provided by Patch - As he called up the National Guard Tuesday to prepare for a possible attack on the Statehouse, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine on Tuesday said he didn’t anticipate President Donald Trump’s unprecedented attack on a peaceful transition of power. DeWine said he was activating 500 members of the Ohio Guard to protect the Statehouse and the U.S. Capitol amid threats that Sunday and the Jan. 20 inauguration could see a reprise of last Wednesday’s calamity. That’s when Trump incited a mob to attack the Capitol as Vice President Mike Pence and Congress were inside, certifying an election that Trump lost. Five people were killed, including a police officer.

Media Are Accusing A GOP Lawmaker Of Insurrection For Quoting Pelosi

Corporate media journalists and left-wing activists took to social media on Wednesday to spread claims that Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert of Texas is in favor of inciting insurrection. “Here’s a quote. ‘I just don’t even know why there aren’t more uprisings all over the country, and maybe there will be,’” Gohmert said on the House floor during the impeachment debate.  While Gohmert specified that what he was saying was a quote, taken directly from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s previous statements encouraging uprisings, journalists and activists quickly twisted his words, publicly speculating and claiming he was calling for increased political violence around the nation.

Ohio Officials Not Tracking Rate Of Vaccine Refusals

Ohio Officials Not Tracking Rate Of Vaccine Refusals Patch 1/2/2021 © Provided by Patch - Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine got a lot of attention Wednesday when he said that 60% of nursing home workers who were offered a coronavirus vaccine refused to take it. But state health officials on Thursday said there’s no organized effort to track refusals among people they consider so critical that they’ve been given first crack at the scarce vaccines. In a press conference, DeWine implored people who are eligible for the vaccine to accept it, warning that it could be a long time before they get another chance. That argument might seem pretty compelling, given that a fast-spreading variant of the virus has popped up in two states, ICU beds are filling and the two approved vaccines have trickled out at a rate far lower than the Trump administration promised.

The Lies by Fauci, Birx, Redfield and Others Come Home to Roost as at-Risk Healthcare Workers Refuse the Wuhan Vaccine

AP Photo/Alex Brandon The vaccine for the Wuhan virus is now being administered to people across the nation. In some jurisdictions, the best principles of social justice and critical race theory are being used. When the CDC first made its recommendation for vaccine distribution it made it clear that there were just too damned many old white people and to atone for white privilege and past injustices they might have to die (see CDC Is Literally Trying to Kill Granny by Using Critical Race Theory to Decide Who Will Get Wuhan Virus Vaccine). In Massachusetts, convicts who, correct me if I’m wrong, are already quarantined will get the vaccine ahead of nursing home residents. In New York, Andrew Cuomo, afraid that time is running out on his ability to willy-nilly slaughter the elderly and the infirm, has decreed that drug addicts in rehab clinics will get the vaccine ahead of those most likely to die from the virus.
