Pierre Lachapelle, president of Les Pollués de Montréal-Trudeau, said his group has so far paid down three-quarters of the amount it was ordered in October to compensate Aéroports de Montréal (ADM) after a Quebec Superior Court judge last summer dismissed one of the group’s legal actions against the airport authority as abusive without hearing arguments on the merits of the case.

“We were very lucky, because people were generous,” Lachapelle said, noting that he and the group’s two other board members were held personally liable with Les Pollués de Montréal-Trudeau to cover part of ADM’s legal costs.
