Both Tomah and Holmen police say they are getting a number of calls of bears in neighborhoods, even one bear showing up near Viking Elementary in Holmen. According to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, black bears are normally shy and try to avoid humans. And you don’t want a bear associating your property with food. If a bear is frequenting your property remove food sources like bird feeders, dog food outdoors and easily accessible garbage cans. ....
