Gov. Maura Healey last week announced a new effort to procure up to 3,600 megawatts of offshore wind power – the largest call out to developers in the state’s history.
A public hearing planned for Thursday, March 24, regarding Mayflower Wind’s proposal to run electric cables under Falmouth Heights has been postponed. A new date has not yet been set.
The wind blew angry. Martha Keeley reached up and pressed a palm against the crown of her head, preventing her silver hair from tousling into a hive of cotton candy.
“Going to get it done tomorrow,” the soft-spoken 60-year-old Doylestown resident said outside Dick’s Sporting Goods at Montgomery Mall in North Wales. “Gotta excuse how it looks, how I look. Shoulda worn a hat.”
Keeley’s comments were partially muffled by a tight-fitting facemask dotted with pictures of red roses. A mask she hates to wear, but does to support the prevention of the further spread of a coronavirus worsening by the day. The mask was made by her niece, a nurse from Ohio, who sewed up a bunch for family members. Keeley received two; the other was by request: A mask depicting a smile.
