BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Louisiana State Police say they have arrested the driver who is accused of causing a fatal 16-vehicle crash on the old US 190 Mississippi River Bridge on Feb. 23.
Janaria James, 13, of Plaquemine, died as a result of the crash.
Marlin Jordan, 42, of Addis, was arrested and charged with negligent homicide on April 14 for allegedly causing the crash, authorities say.

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) Louisiana State Police have arrested a man accused of causing a 16-vehicle crash in February on the old Mississippi River bridge in East Baton Rouge Parish that left a 13-year-old girl dead.
After an investigation and review of all the evidence in the accident, troopers determined that Marlin Jordan s actions leading up to the crash were negligent, state police said Thursday. The agency did not provide any further details.
Jordan, 42, of Addis, was arrested Thursday on a charge of negligent homicide. He was released later from the East Baton Rouge Parish jail after posting $75,000 bond. It was unknown if he has an attorney who could speak on his behalf.

A man has been arrested in connection with a multi-vehicle crash in February that claimed the life of a 13-year-old girl.
State Police say that, after a continued investigation into this crash, troopers have arrested 42-year-old Marlin Jordan of Addis, for negligent homicide.
Troopers say they were able to determine that Jordan s actions leading up to the crash were negligent.
On April 14, 2021, an arrest warrant was obtained for Jordan and he was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail.

BATON ROUGE - The driver of an 18-wheeler involved in a deadly February 23 pile-up on US 190 has been charged with negligent homicide.
The wreck resulted in the death of a 13-year-old girl and also injured some of the individuals in the 15 other vehicles that were involved.
The crash was reported around 8:30 a.m. on US 190 in the lanes heading into East Baton Rouge.
Louisiana State Police say Marlin Jordan was behind the wheel of a 2007 Kenworth tractor-trailer, headed east on US Hwy 190 when he approached stopped traffic on the downslope of US Hwy 190 and was unable to stop.
