He very recently was shooting ballistic missiles over japan. this is something that still is unresolved by this agreement. it s right now all one sided, flowing towards north korea, flowing towards kim. we don t have any definition now of what kim is going to do, what the north koreans going to do. the dangerous thing here is that china takes this as an excuse to relax the economic sanctions which drove north korea to the table. we should actually insist that all of those economic sanctions stay on the books, that china not be allowed to relax them so that we have maximum pressure for as long as ites to, in fact, have a program which removes these nuclear weapons and their ballistic missiles. we don t have any of that right now. one final question before i let you go, senator. in the agreement the north koreans do promise to help work with the united states to recover all pow/mia remains from ....
steve, what would you tell the president if you could speak to him personally? i would encourage him to order an investigation into this product, into the actions of this federal highway administration. i would encourage him to codify the recommendations made by the general accounting office of the united states in a report that senator blumenthal and markey had requested. i d ask him two questions, i d ask him, mr. president, 40,200 people died on our nation s highways in 2016. what would be an acceptable reduction in that number? the second question would be, are you prepared to sacrifice any of your family members to that number? and i think the answer is, no. so i would ask him to commit the united states to the national safety council s road to zero initiative, and this is a goal to reduce highway traffic deaths ....
