(Cliff Champlin) ENFIELD, CT Firefighters from all five fire departments in Enfield are working at a blaze in the Thompsonville section of town. The fire was reported around 7 p.m. at 21-23 Hartford Avenue, a century-old duplex. Mark Zarcaro, public information officer for the fire departments of Enfield, said the majority of the flames were from the southern part of the house. The American Red Cross reported it was assisting three families, consisting of seven adults and nine children. ....

(Cliff Champlin) ENFIELD, CT At least four people, including two children, have been displaced from their home following a fire in an apartment complex Wednesday afternoon. The fire at the Freshwater Pond Apartments on Thistle Lane gutted the second floor of a unit, and a total of eight units sustained smoke damage, according to Mark Zarcaro, public information officer for the fire departments of Enfield. The first firefighters to arrive found heavy smoke and fire conditions on the second floor of one of the units. Initial reports indicated people were trapped; however, firefighters searching the units, confirmed no one was trapped, Thompsonville Chief David Deskis said. ....
