Seven decades after he left his family in Northampton, Pa., and went to war in Korea, Edward Reiter was laid to rest in a grave that long has borne his name.
Column: Who was Edward Reiter, Korean War soldier who went missing in action 72 years ago and was just recently identified? Just a typical kid from Northampton, family says.
Pfc. Reiter was 17 when he dropped out of Northampton Area High School during his junior year to enlist in the Army. Eight months later, he disappeared on a battlefield in Korea.
