U. N. Shelters hoping to escape the punishing israeli air assault on the gaza strip. Hamas militants continue their barrage of rocket attacks on the cities as both sides resist calls for a ceasefire. This morning more rockets were fired from lebanon. Susan mcginnis is in washington. Good morning. Marlie, good morning. The bombing does continue. Also the Israeli Ground troops did enter gaza but it does not appear to be the start of any broad start offensive, this as calls here in washington and inside other western governments for a ceasefire keep on growing louder. Israel continued to bomb hamas targets in the gaza strip this morning. Hamas has been answering back with rockets of its own. This is our Western Addition of the broadcast. Calls for a ceasefire continue though tonight both sides appear to be heading in the opposite direction. Israeli tanks are massing at the gaza border. Israel briefly did deploy Ground Troops inside the gaza strip this morning, a precursor to a possible ground invasion. In gaza city thousands of palestinians continue fleeing their homes. Many taking shelter in United Nations buildings. So far 167 have died in this latest conflict. More than a thousand have been hurt. We begin with Holly Williams in gaza.
