Penn State Health announced Wednesday the appointments of two vice presidents.
Dr. Safa Farzin, who joined Penn State Health in 2019 and currently serves as vice president for medical affairs and staff development at Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center, has been promoted to the position of senior vice president for Penn State Health Medical Group, Community Practice Division after a national search, a press release said. ....

Marine Corps marksmanship officials this week rolled out the final version of a new, more realistic rifle qualification course that will force Marines to put lethal hits on stationary and moving targets the same as they would in combat.
Beginning Oct. 1, all active-duty Marines and sailors assigned to Fleet Marine Force will qualify with the demanding new Annual Rifle Qualification, or ARQ a course of fire designed to assess how shooters use fundamental marksmanship principles to apply lethal force on modern targets with lethal zones marked on the chest and head. ....

Changes are coming to the annual rifle qualification, and they’re coming soon.
Marines will be shooting in more realistic scenarios, wearing combat gear, hitting moving targets and shooting drills in sequence if they want to qualify with their individual weapon, be that an M16, M4 or M27.
In a call with reporters, the heads of Marine Corps marksmanship training detailed the changes, which will start rolling out in the coming months.
But say goodbye to the 1900s-era rifle training that generations of Marines have slogged through two weeks every year. Because as of Oct. 1 every Marine will be doing their annual rifle qualification, as it is now known, under this new, more demanding system. ....
