A man who lavished cars and cash on murdered Melbourne woman Ellie Price denied he was her sugar daddy or pimp.
Accountant Mark Gray appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday where it was revealed he continued to finance the 26-year old s lavish lifestyle up until she threatened to make a false rape allegation against him just weeks before she was killed.
Ms Price was found with fatal stab wounds in her South Melbourne home on May 4 last year, but it s believed she died as early as five days beforehand.
Her boyfriend Ricardo Barbaro, 34, is charged with her murder and is facing a three-day preliminary hearing. ....

A Melbourne accountant who helped fund the luxury lifestyle of a woman before she was killed has denied being her pimp or sugar daddy, maintaining they were close friends.
However, Mark Paul Gray said his friendship with Ellie Price soured shortly before her death in April 2020, when she threatened to falsely report him for rape unless he paid her $100,000.

The grieving mother of Ellie Price, whose body was found in a Melbourne apartment, has broken down in the witness box under intense questioning, as defence lawyers combed through her daughter s sex life, drug use, an abortion and a possible rape allegation.
Ricardo Barbaro, 34, appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court where he is facing a hearing to test the evidence against him after being charged with the murder of Ms Price, whose body was found at her South Melbourne apartment in May last year. ....
