Raptor SWIR Cameras Improve Productivity For The Remote Sensing Of Vegetation

Forage Mass Monitoring (FFM) analysis has been traditionally done using biomass sampling to calculate biomass yield per hectare. Raptor Photonics has recently published an Application Note showing how reflectance spectroscopy methods using drone based remote sensing systems are now being used to derive well-established vegetation indices (VIs) more efficiently than biomass sampling. Researchers from the University of Applied Science Koblenz have developed an imaging system in the form of a multispectral multi-camera system using two of Raptor’s Owl 640M cameras enabling the coverage from 600 to 1700 nm. Promising results prove the principal suitability of such systems for airborne monitoring of small to medium-sized farmland in agricultural applications for precision agriculture, such as biomass for crops and grasslands. ....

West Sussex pharmacy begins to offer Covid-19 vaccinations - In pictures
Covid-19 vaccinations have started to be delivered to residents from a pharmacy in West Sussex today (Friday, January 29).

Based in Midhurst Memorial Hall, the first pharmacy-led vaccination centre in West Sussex will administer ‘well above’ the minimum 1,000 doses per week.
Midhurst Pharmacy owner Raj Rohilla said: “I’m very proud to be using my years of experience in community pharmacy to set up a new pharmacy-led vaccination centre from Midhurst Memorial Hall.
“I’ve worked hard to ensure everyone coming through our doors will have a good patient experience and feel safe. We have the capacity, working with support from our fantastic community team, to administer well above the minimum 1,000 doses per week. ....

Pharmacists in Sussex are still reporting abusive behaviour towards them during the ongoing the Covid-19 pandemic.

On Wednesday, (December 16) Police & Crime Commissioner (PCC) Katy Bourne visited a Sussex pharmacy to talk to staff there about some of the issues they have faced during the pandemic.
According to the Local Pharmaceutical Committee (LPC) patients across Sussex have been attempting to stockpile medicines leading to some shortages and increased demand.
The LPC across the South East has reported that pharmacists and other pharmacy staff are being sworn at and abused which Mrs Bourne says is ‘unacceptable behaviour that will not be tolerated.’ ....
