In 20 years on the bench, Circuit Judge Jim Kitchens has presided over more than 300 jury trials ranging from bad checks to capital murder cases where the death penalty is in play.
“I’m going to vote for it, or commit suicide,” said District 17 Sen. Chuck Younger, referencing the largest economic development deal in the state’s history. That deal an aluminum mill going onto Steel Dynamics’ campus off of Airport Road represents a $2.5 billion investment by the company and a huge infusion of jobs.
Andy Boyd didn’t want to believe he had won. His opponent in the District 37 state representative special election, David Chism, had already conceded. Still, Boyd wanted to see all the numbers before declaring victory.
Voters will head to the polls Tuesday to decide races for the District 37 House of Representatives seat, as well as several judicial races across the area.
