Public Health is warning about potential exposure to COVID-19 on another Maritime Bus from the Halifax Stanfield Airport to Sydney. The bus left the airport at 3:45 in the afternoon on May 2 nd and arrived at the Circle K on George Street at 9:10 that night. Anyone who was on the bus is asked to book a COVID test and to isolate until they get a negative result. People who test positive will be contacted by Public Health. Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Heather Morrison reported two new cases of COVID-19 on the Island Monday afternoon. P.E.I. currently has 11 active cases of COVID-19 and has had 177 positive cases since the pandemic began. There have been two hospitalizations and no deaths. Elsewhere in the Atlantic region Monday: Nova Scotia reported 66 new cases Monday, which is a single-day record for the province. There are 323 active cases the province announced more restrictions beginning Tuesday. New Brunswick reported seven new cases. There are 122 active cases, including the variant first recorded in India. Newfoundland and Labrador confirmed four new cases and has 28 active cases. ....

A complaint has been filed against Premier Blaine Higgs over a letter written by Energy Development Minister Mike Holland to the Energy and Utilities Board. Liberal MLA Rob McKee complains the letter is a conflict of interest and Higgs should be responsible for interfereing, because Holland was acting on his behalf, according to CBC. Holland asked the board to rush its review of a request from Irving Oil for an increase in price margins that gas retailers are allowed to charge customers The Liberals say Higgs, has a “private interest” in the EUB decision because he is a former Irving Oil executive. The government argues that there is no conflict for Higgs as he would not be financially better off no matter the decision. ....
