MERIDEN â The Board of Education will swear in a new member when it reconvenes next month.Â
During a meeting held via video conference last week, the City Council voted unanimously to appoint Democrat Sheri Amechi to the seat vacated when Marisol Estrada stepped down earlier this month.Â
Estrada was appointed to the Board of Education in 2016 to replace Kyle Abercrombie, who stepped down to take a position with the
Connecticut School Finance Project, a New Haven-based non-profit organization.Â
