A Boone County man is being held in the Marion County Law Enforcement Center on multiple felony charges, including kidnapping, following a violent altercation with a female victim and his attempt to kill himself in the backseat of a patrol unit.
According to the probable cause affidavit released Thursday afternoon, in addition to the Class Y felony kidnapping offense, 22-year-old Nicholas Jackson of Harrison is charged with aggravated assault, breaking or entering, terroristic threatening and two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor. He also faces misdemeanors of resisting arrest and criminal trespassing. Class Y felonies are the most serious classification of crime in Arkansas not punishable by death.
A woman from Summit is jailed on murder and attempted murder charges following a shooting incident at her house late Tuesday night. Thirty-four-year-old Bridget Lynn Brown is being held in the Marion County Jail on a quarter of a million dollar bond. The victim of the shooting is identified as 24-year-old Rachel Hemphill of Summit. Marion County Sheriff Clinton Evans says when deputies arrived, they found Hemphill on the floor of the residence with a gunshot to the head. She was transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
Evans says the incident happened at 251 Railroad Trail in Summit while a group of people were gathered at Brown’s house. During the investigation, Brown told law enforcement she was entering the house, but because the stairs were shaky, she attempted to brace herself with the hand she had a gun in and the trigger was pulled. Law enforcement have not said why Brown had the gun.

A Marion County man, 43-year-old Nathan Siebrasse of Yellville, has been sentenced to 15 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction after pleading guilty to two counts of second-degree sexual assault.
Online court documents indicate Siebrasse entered the plea last month in Marion County Circuit Court.
The sentence follows Siebrasse’s arrest on Christmas in 2018. At that time, Marion County Sheriff Clinton Evans said the arrest followed his department receiving a call concerning a physical domestic dispute at a residence in Yellville.
While deputies were investigating the domestic dispute, a juvenile female made officers aware of alleged sexual contact with Siebrasse. During the course of the investigation, officers were told Siebrasse had been having a sexual relationship with a then 15-year-old female since August of that year.
