Macy s to close store at Daytona s Volusia Mall by end of April DAYTONA BEACH Struggling department store chain Macy s Inc. on Wednesday confirmed that it will be closing its longtime location at Daytona Beach s Volusia Mall by the end of April. It s the second major big box retailer at the mall to close in the last two years, following the closure of Sears in 2019. Macy s has been one of the enclosed mall s anchor tenants since the 1980s. It will be one of 45 locations that Macy s has decided to shutter by the end of April. I m saddened, said Marion Bacon, a Daytona Beach resident who has been a regular customer at the Volusia Mall Macy s for more than 25 years. She said she and her neighbor, Anne Granfors, try to visit the store at least once every other week. I like their clothes and their sales. That s why we re here today. ....
