Nelson Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions were honoured for their 150 years of service to the Catholic community this week with a mass and tree planting ceremony held at St Mary s Church and on St Joseph s School grounds to commemorate the order’s arrival in 1871 from France.
Faith put the wind in their sails as they left France – this week the long-standing contribution of Nelson’s Mission Sisters was acknowledged by the local Catholic community. A mass was held on Tuesday to mark the 150th anniversary of the first arrival of the Order of Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions to Nelson.
