Many more educators in Santa Barbara County will now be able to receive their first COVID-19 vaccine after an increase in vaccine supply.
Just a week ago, only certain school staff were able to receive their COVID-19 vaccines but that s not the case now. According to the county superintendent of schools, the supply has picked up.
You know, we had to really respond to a limited vaccine and at that time. the response was to say, who are the most at risk?â said Dr. Susan Salcido, Santa Barbara County Superintendent of Schools. ....

A local hospital in Santa Maria is helping get the COVID-19 vaccine to nearly 4,000 seniors this weekend. Marian Regional Medical Center, a member of Dignity Healthy, turned the parking lot on 220 Palisades Drive into a community vaccination site on Thursday.
During the next four days, the medical staff will vaccinate residents 75 years and older in Santa Barbara County.
We re doing this even while our hospital is surging. We want to get this (vaccine) out to the community, Robin Dodds, the Patient Experience Director, said. ....
