The Humboldt County Office of Education (HCOE) hosted its annual celebration honoring California’s Day of the Teacher by recognizing outstanding educators with Excellence in Teaching Awards. This year’s ceremony, held at the Sequoia Conference Center in Eureka, recognized 7 teachers for their exceptional work in the classroom. With a combined 112 years of teaching experience, these educators were joined by over 200 colleagues, friends, and family members to celebrate their achievements.

accident on northbound 95 between route 123 and the prince william parkway. the trooper had been on the shoulder of the highway when another car apparently struck him. another injured driver was taken by ambulance to the hospital. accident investigators and state police have been trying to determine what happened here. in the meantime, interstate 95 has been backed up for miles. it is basically a parking lot. it appears several vehicles were involved in both the first crash, to which the to which the trooper responded, and then the second crash involving the trooper. this stretch of roadway is always treacherous. everybody goes so quickly that nobody is looking and they re not aware of anything around them i try to stay off of 95 because of that. virginia state police say it will be several hours. they are still not sure what exactly happened here. there is a brand new law in the state of virginia, a move over law if there are of emergency vehicles on the side of
