Novant Health received its first batch of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine Thursday. The first injections went to health workers at Novant facilities in Charlotte, Winston-Salem and Bolivia in Brunswick County.
More COVID-19 vaccines have arrived in Charlotte.
Novant Health received its first batch – approximately 7,000 doses – of the Food and Administration-approved Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19. North Carolina is responsible for determining supply distribution and Novant Health has enough freezers to store at least 500,000 doses. Staff underwent extensive training as well as a day of mock distribution and administration while first front-line health care workers received the vaccine. ....
