Coronavirus quarantine breacher Jenny D'Ubios avoids jail after changing plea to guilty

A so-called COVID denier has avoided being sent back to jail for leaving hotel quarantine in Perth after announcing her intentions on social media.

She visited several suburbs and the beach before being arrested
D Ubios has been given a nine-month community-based order
She had returned to Perth from Spain seven days earlier, but in posts on social media from her hotel room, she announced she was going to leave the forced isolation because it was flaring up her allergies and she could not breathe properly.
She also claimed coronavirus did not exist and was actually what she called frequency spectrum radiation from 5G . ....

New South Wales has recorded 18 new cases of coronavirus in the past day - a worrying surge in numbers compared to recent days - and a new cluster has been declared.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian described an outbreak in Croydon in Sydney s inner-west as concerning , with six cases recorded so far. There have also been a further two infections in Wollongong, 120km south of Sydney.
A series of mystery cases, the source of which can t be determined, continue to worry health authorities also.
Ms Berejiklian pleaded for anyone in the state with even the mildest of symptoms to come forward for testing in a bid to get on top of the outbreak. ....

Security bolstered at WA coronavirus hotels after returned traveller's attempted escape

Security at Western Australia s quarantine hotels will be bolstered after a review sparked by the escape of a woman who failed to complete 14 days in supervised isolation.
Acting Premier and Health Minister Roger Cook says the review s three recommendations will ensure the continued integrity of a system which has already catered for more than 30,000 people, including about 25,000 returned international travellers.
At the same time it was also revealed police had received more than 2000 complaints from guests unhappy with their treatment in the quarantine system.

The increased security arrangements include new protocols for dealing with people who have breached quarantine requirements or are considered a risk of doing so. ....
