put special traffic enforcement teams out on the streets. last night, the first of that special enforcement patrol hit the streets in oakland. department leaders say it s already paying off. right now, we re going to go out and work from seminary to high street. proactive enforcement and high visibility. reporter: these the are the times of specialized law enforcement teams that were out on the streets in oakland last night with one primary focus: traffic safety. they got people running red lights, running stop signs, excessive speeding. reporter: last night, the traffic enforcement task force arrested 17 people for drunk driving, three others for various crimes, towed 14 cars, and got in three pursuits. anytime you can take drunk drivers, reckless drivers off the street, you re stopping any future potential danger. reporter: another major focus of the enforcement task force will be to stop shows in oakland. these times of side shows have been an issue for years.
