股权结构方面，本次股权转让完成工商变更登记前，摩根士丹利华鑫证券的外资股东摩根士丹利持股51%，华鑫证券有限责任公司持股49%。
某合资券商人士认为，在政策支持的背景下，外资实现100%控股已是大势所趋。
此前，首家外资独资券商出现已经见诸报端。2020年12月，高盛已经率先完成了对高盛高华证券100%持股的协议签署，接下来只剩一些监管流程要完成。
此外，华鑫证券5月29日也发布了公开挂牌转让其所持摩根士丹利华鑫基金管理有限公司36%股权进展的公告。挂牌期满后，Morgan Stanley International Holdings Inc.作为唯一意向受让方，采用协议转让的方式受让上述股权，受让价为人民币38930万元。上述股权转让事项完成后，华鑫证券不再持有摩根华鑫基金股权。
