The major roads department of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) did develop the footpath — it spent crores of rupees for asphalting and development of the sidewalks on either side of the road. However, it appears the BBMP made no effort to inspect the quality of the footpaths thereafter.
Clement Jayakumar, a member of the Mahadevapura task force, revealed that the bridge was initially scheduled to be completed within three months. However, it has now been more than a year since the construction began, and the project remains unfinished.
